Introduction

This is NOT Financial Advice

In my previous post “Insane Strategy to Speed Run Retirement” I talked about how I’m investing my income. Even though it seemed like I was joking for the whole post, I am actually doing everything in there and I’ve just maxed out all my tax advantage accounts today with the exception of the HSA which will be finished in December through payroll. I’ve reached a nice milestone and I hope I can do this again next year.

Plan For The Rest of The Year

This is Still NOT Financial Advice

I’m still going to be sending my entire paycheck to my taxable brokerage for the rest of the year and invest excess RSUs and ESPP shares. It’s pretty unlikely I’ll have excess shares because I have to book one international flight for the end of the year. I know that this strategy can’t last forever because eventually my company’s stock price will probably either crash or decrease in value. But, I will continue doing this strategy for as long as I can.

One change I’ve also added back in June is starting a Fidelity Charitable giving account and transferring some of my stock and donating them over a few years. I’m currently donating to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Signal Foundation, and Wikimedia Foundation.

How I Felt

This is Still NOT Financial Advice

Honestly, I feel exactly the same as before doing this strategy so there isn’t really any reason for me to not do this. In fact, I like how getting a raise or more shares just means I’ll have fewer 0 net paychecks and makes no meaningful difference in my life. I still see Lego friend or Gym Bro friend every once in a while to watch a movie, make pizzas, or walk around random places in Seattle or Bellevue. I spent a lot more time writing, reading novels, and polishing shoes. I’ve paused my daily 20 minute drills for polishing shoes for competition but I’m probably going to buy a pair of Bridlen medium brown cap toe oxfords to practice on in January. I feel like I’m doing mentally better. It’s another year that I’ve successfully delayed mothering sourdough starter and collecting fountain pens.

What I Want to Buy

This is Still NOT Financial Advice

The only thing I’m interested in buying other than the Bridlen practice shoes are a couple of teas. I’ve recently purchased some Baozhong Oolong, Gan Lu, Qimen Wild Thicket, and Qimen Gold Bud. I think even though I ordered the smallest quantity for each tea, they will last me until March or April of next year.
