Introduction

This year I went to both New York and Korea. I planned to get some shirts from The Armoury and then resize a bunch of clothing that I received from the tailor shop a la moda in Korea. However I ended up also buying an thin wool, silk, and cashmere mix sweater from The Armoury because I knew I would walking around in the freezing cold during St Patrick’s Day. I tried to resize my favorite sport coat that I bought from the Armoury in 2021, but it was already sized up when I got it and I gained too much weight and shoulder width for it to be resized. Rest in peace that coat. I ended up sending it to LuxeSwap and I haven’t heard about it yet but, hopefully I can get some money back for the coat because it’s still in pretty good condition.

Korea Plans

This is where things truly took a turn because I didn’t want to get a bunch of new clothing but at a la moda I ended getting 5 shirts, 1 blue summer wool suit (I think it’s similar to Dormeuil tonik wool), and 1 prince of wales light grey sportcoat with charcoal wool trousers. He also gave me an extra copy of both trousers. In the end, he generously gave me everything for free but I generally don’t really like buying a bunch of clothing like this. I think I can get good use of everything especially for the Spring/Summer season, but my interest is mostly in interesting patterned sport coats, tweed, and knitwear. I really think Drake’s has most of the stuff I want and I recently learned that they actually do have a store in Seoul which I will try to visit the next time I’m there.

Continuity in the Wardrobe

I still got most things resized in Korea so I’ll be getting back my black coat, purplish coat, brown/taupe suit, and medium blue cashmere suit back the next time I go to Korea. I couldn’t bring back everything due to space limitations. By the time I go back the 5 shirts should also be done. I brought back my blue tweed sport coat and blue pea coat from Korea. Because I finally have black and dark brown oxfords, I think I can also easily wear all my suits now. The only thing I’m really interested in getting in 2027 is the Drakes Ecru Gun Club Check Tweed Blazer which is kind of similar to the old Armoury sport coat that I had to send to LuxeSwap. If it’s still available next year at Drakes I would like to get this blazer, some button down shirts depending on what the minimum order is for made to measure, and maybe 1 olive pair of trousers.
