Atmos Summit Card User Review

Atmos Summit Card
Basic Information
I’ve been procrastinating getting the Alaska card for so long they finally released a new card after they bought out Hawaiian Airlines. I think it’s a solid offering and probably an S+ Tier card if you are a couple living in Seattle or San Diego. If you want to optimize more you can refer each other to get more points. The main multipliers are 3X Atmos Points on Dining 3X Atmos Points on Alaska/Hawaiian Airlines 3X Atmos Points on any spend outside of the United States 1 status point for every $2 spent on net purchases
The points don’t stack so you can’t earn 6X on food outside the United States.
If you have a qualifying Bank of America account you can change the 3X to 3.33X as well. I was a bit confused on whether or not the Merrill Lynch investment account was free because when I was doing the application I saw that you have to pay a yearly fee. Some people might have found a way to have it for free and just have 1 dollar in there to qualify. I just put 1000 dollars of my emergency fund in a CD that auto renews and it seems to work.
Other Perks
My prediction is that they will probably have to cap the 3X on the foreign spend because people who live in Singapore or Japan will probably abuse this card.
There are other easy to use credits and free baggage that you can read about on their website, but the stuff that I can probably get value from immediately is the companion pass and 100K sign on bonus. Usually you get your companion pass on your card anniversary, but you get 1 free extra one after you complete your sign on bonus. Basically when you spend points to redeem for a flight that includes 2 people, you can reduce the fare of the second flight by 25K.
A perk that might be useful for me is the 2 Alaska lounge passes per quarter because I have been indoctrinated by my family and I go to the airport 3 hours before my flight no matter what.
You can also obtain an extra 100K companion pass for spending $60,000 on the card per anniversary year which might be doable for some if you connect the card with BILT and pay your rent. You still have to pay a 3% fee but at current point evaluations it might be worth it to people who know they will get to use the pass that year. I’ve connected my card to BILT but it’s not really guaranteed to give me the 100K points.
Digital User Experience
Bank of America is the bank issuing the card and it’s definitely terrible, but after setting alerts, autopay, and connecting to my budgeting app, there isn’t really anything else to do because the awards get automatically sent to Atmos. It was also not clear on when status points from card spend would actually be posted to Atmos. It’s actually the end of the next month. So if you spend in October you should expect those status points to post at the end of November. I don’t think this is written anywhere, but it would probably make more sense if status points posted at the statement closing day like Atmos points.
First Year
Because of the sign on bonus, year one for most cards will always seem amazing. The true test will be if the card is worth using year 2 and beyond. I will come back to this post to update on all my travels in 2026.
Korea December 2025 - January 2026
So far I paid for my trip to Korea in 2025/2026 to get the sign on bonus. Nothing exciting here. Also it’s likely that I will get one of the lower level statuses in 2026 and will report on my experience as a Seattle resident.
